Sale of AIS Payloads
Today, LuxSpace announces that it has sold two AIS payloads to DAURIA AEROSPACE.
Based on the current success of Vesselsat 1 and 2, DAURIA AEROSPACE has selected LuxSpace and its electronics manufacturer Emtronix for the establishment of two AIS payloads. The design of the AIS payload is fully owned by LuxSpace.
Jochen Harms, managing director of LuxSpace, commented this purchase: “Aside the delivery of complete satellites, LuxSpace is also starting to make its inroad into subsystem sales in specific niche markets”. The sold payload is a copy of the one embarked on Vesselsat 1 and 2, which now has a combined four years in-orbit heritage.
LuxSpace is an affiliate of OHB AG (Prime Standard, ISIN: DE0005936124), one of the three large space prime companies in Europe. LuxSpace has about 50 employees and is mainly developing micro satellites and is actively participating in the OHB System led Small GEO initiative. Furthermore, LuxSpace has a strong service business with specific focus on AIS (Automatic Information System for Ship Detection) and Earth Observation.
